Paul Harpole has been re-elected for his second term as Mayor of Amarillo.
In an interview, he told us he is looking forward for his next two years in office.
"I think it will allow us to carry a lot of things forward that we've begun" he said.
In terms of future plans, Harpole said he will work to clean up the city. "Our town is predicted to grow 35,000 people this ten years," he said. "That's 9,000 more homes, that's 9 to 11,000 more jobs. It's critical we do that very carefully. "
Harpole also told us he will continue to work on progressing the downtown initiative.
Harpole beat his opponent, Terry Baughman, 5,563 to 1,270 votes.
