Shooting victim's brother speaks out

The Amarillo man suspected of shooting three people has been arraigned.

27 year-old Brandon Greene has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Friday. Greene is currently behind bars in the Potter County Jail facing a $75,000 bond for each charge.

The three people who were shot at the Rounder's Club near Georgia remain hospitalized. 29 year-old Sergio Rodriguez is in life-threatening condition. 32 year-old Jorge Rodriguez and 21 year-old Alex Gomez are both in serious condition.

Alex's brother Irv says one bullet hit both his artery and vein in the right thigh. Irv says, "He had to go through a second surgery. One of his arteries had been hit. And finally they operated it. And they stopped the bleeding."

Irv was at the club earlier, and then returned when he found out his little brother had been shot. He says, "Whenever I first got a phone call, I was, you know, I was furious. I was like are you kidding me. My little brother. And I got in the car, and I drove as fast as I could. When I got there, I had seen him laying down in the street covered in blood. I tried to get to him, but the cop was like 'No you have to get away'. And you know I was going crazy because I've never experienced something like this in my life."

Irv says a fight led to the shooting. He says, "There was people fighting inside the club. And then after that, the fight escalated outside. I believe Alex was there just watching. Kind of just seeing you know what's going on. And then finally, um, a guy just started blasting people out of no where; he starts shooting. And when he shot, Alex happened to be one of the victims."

Irv says Alex is doing better now, and was actually able to talk. He says, "He's doing a lot better. He made a comment that he's thirsty, but he's only allowed to eat chips, the ice chips. And he said that he was dreaming, and he dreams of a Gatorade. And so I guess he still gots his sense of humor back."
