TxDOT bridge construction update

Posted: Updated:

The Cherry Ave. overpass on US-287 was re-opened on Friday after months of construction.

But, starting Monday, the North and Southbound overpasses at Willow Creek will be closed. The project is expected to last at least eight months.

Work on the overpass at the Loop in Amarillo is expected to wrap up in the next 6 weeks.

All of the construction is part of a bigger project TxDOT is working on to make 8 area bridges safer for drivers. Future projects include work being done on FM 1719.

All construction is expected to be done by May or June of next year.
