Amarillo man expected to be charged in overnight shooting

Amarillo, TX- An Amarillo man is expected to be charged tomorrow with shooting three people at a local club.

27 year-old Brandon Greene of Amarillo is now behind bars facing three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, following the shootings of three people in this Amarillo parking lot.

Sergeant Brent Barbee with the APD says, "While the officers were at the scene, they developed information on a possible suspect name. They used that name, and were able to come up with a car description. They also gathered some information that the individual was en route to a bar in the 600 block of Amarillo boulevard West called Legends. The officers found the car at that bar, and then stopped it after it drove away."

29 year-old Sergio Rodriguez, 32 year-old Jorge Rodriguez, and 21 year-old Alex Gomez remain hospitalized with life threatening injuries after being shot in the leg or torso.

Police say gunshots were fired around 2:00 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Rounder's Club near the united on Georgia.

Officials believe Greene was the lone gunman in these shootings. Barbee says, "Mr. Greene was brought back to the police department. During the course of the investigation, detectives established information or evidence that he was the one that had fired the shots that had struck the three people."

Police continue looking for physical evidence, talking with more witnesses to figure out a motive for this shooting, and determining whether more suspects are involved.

Barbee says, "It takes quite a while to compare all these different accounts of what happened. And compile a correct and accurate depiction of the whole event. And that's really what the investigation as far as to compile a full, true, correct story of what happened."
