American Airlines flights cancelled

Posted: Updated:

Many travelers using American Airlines had to deal with head-aches Tuesday afternoon after the airline temporarily grounded all their flights.

By 6:00 Tuesday, American Airlines had restored it's computer system that caused hundreds of flights across the nation to be grounded. But, all flights in and out of Rick Husband International Airport in Amarillo were cancelled for the remainder of the evening.

We were told the American Airlines online booking and reservation system went down around noon. At least three flights coming to Rick Husband International Airport from Dallas were cancelled.

A spokesperson for American Airlines said on their web site, refunds and rescheduling free of charge were options for those involved in the cancellations and delays.
