Sheriff's Deputies shave heads in support of co-worker

Lieutenant Lisa Dawson Lieutenant Lisa Dawson

Amarillo, TX - Deputies from the Potter County Sheriff's Department came together to support one of their own battling cancer.

It wasn't a typical day at the office for Potter County Sheriffs Deputies, in fact many left work with new hair-dos but it was all for a good cause.

Lieutenant Lisa Dawson was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. To show their support for Dawson, over 45 officers shaved their heads Wednesday morning to honor her.

Throughout her battle she told us it was the support of her co-workers that has given her the strength to fight.

For fellow officers, shaving their heads to support their co-worker and friend was the least they could do.

Over 45 officers ended up shaving their head for Lieutenant Dawson but she says even the ones who didn't still support her.

"Just because they didn't doesn't mean they don't support me...they support me all the same, there just the smart ones," says Dawson.

Lisa tells us her chemo treatments are going well and her fight against breast cancer is much easier with the support of her co-workers.
