Serbia - A shooting spree in Serbia Tuesday morning is now being called the worst in the country in over 20 years.
The suspected shooter remains in critical condition after killing 13 people and trying to commit suicide.
Authorities have identified him as 60-year old Ljubisa B., a veteran of the 1991 to 1995 Serbian-Croatian war.
He allegedly used a semi-automatic 9mm pistol for the random killings that happened within a 30 minute time-span.
Police officials say the suspect first shot his son in the head, before going house to house, where he killed several of his neighbors and relatives.
The incident happened in a close-knit village just 30 miles southeast of the Serbian capital, Belgrade.
Neighbors who were killed had reportedly left their doors unlocked and all were shot in the head, most of whom were sleeping.
Authorities say the gunman killed his wife at the end of the spree.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined but according to the Belgrade Emergency Hospital, the suspect was apparently not mentally unstable.
He had no criminal record and did have a firearms permit.
