Amarillo traffic enforcement officer taken to hospital after downtown accident

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo traffic enforcement officer was taken to a hospital after a vehicle apparently crashed into him Monday afternoon.

Police say a vehicle ran a red light in downtown Amarillo hitting the officer's vehicle traveling south on Polk.

The officer was taken to a local hospital with minor shoulder and neck injuries.

    The Texas A&M Forest Service said 12,500 acres have burned in the Rankin Ranch Road Fire, a large blaze burning near Miami in Roberts County.
