Virginia - A press conference on the deadly shooting at a Marine base in Virginia wrapped up Friday morning.

Authorities say they are investigating the motive for the shooting that occurred at Marine Barracks Quantico.

But what we do know at this hour, is that a marine killed a male and female colleague on base before committing suicide.

The notification of a shooting came about 11 PM Thursday when one dead victim was found.

Using a PA system, police announced a base lockdown which lasted for several hours and ended early Friday morning.

Authorities surrounded the shooter, who was in a barracks door room not far from the crime scene.

Two hours later, they discovered the shooter dead of a self-inflicted wound.

The female victim was in the room with him, fatally shot.

All three were staffers of the Officer Candidates School on the base.

Their names are being withheld for the next 24-hours or until next of kin are notified.

Authorities say the shooting was an isolated incident and they are confident there were no other casualties.
