Borger teens die from possible drug overdose

Autopsy and toxicology results are pending for two area teens found dead over the weekend. A roommate spoke with us with hopes that by speaking out, other teens will stay away from drugs.

18 year-old Kevin Cardona and 17 year-old Raymundo Dominguez were found dead in a Borger residence Sunday afternoon. Raquel Cardona, Kevin's Grandmother says, "I still ask myself why. Why son, why did you do that. We were all fine, talking well. He would come over and spend time, was playful with us."

Martin Iglesias was living with Kevin for about two years and says they were both like brothers to him. He says, "We just hung out a lot. We were always there for each other. And I mean, I love him like a brother, and I miss him already. I wish he was here right now."

He says the night before, the teens had been drinking, smoking, and using several drugs. Martin says he checked on them Sunday morning before leaving to work. "Kevin on the bed right. So he helps me fix him on the bed. He's snoring. You know, sleeping good... I look at Raymund right... he was snoring, you know, sound asleep. At the same time you can see him moving his head, and talking like he was having a bad dream."

But he then received a call from a mutual friend. Martin says, "They're in your room dead. They're cold. They're not breathing. I gave them CPR. They're not moving. They can't breathe."

Martin says he hopes area teens stay away from drugs and have fun in a safe way like playing sports. "You have to pay careful attention and choose your friends wisely. Who you get together with, who they are."

Borger police say they should have preliminary autopsy results ready this week, but toxicology reports could take up to three weeks.
