One person sent to hospital after I-27 wreck

Amarillo, TX - One person was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after a near head-on wreck on I-27.

Police say a driver was traveling north in the southbound lane around midnight when they collided with another vehicle near the 26th Street exit.

One driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The other was treated and released at the scene.

Officers believe alcohol did play a role in the crash.
