One person missing after explosion in Kansas City

Kansas City, Missouri - Firefighters continue searching for a missing person Wednesday following an explosion at a restaurant in Missouri.

One victim was found alive and taken to the hospital earlier Wednesday morning.

Authorities say 14 other people were injured in the blast, that occurred around six o'clock Tuesday night.

Three remain in critical condition today and two in serious condition.

The rest of the victims are recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Since there is no reliable count of people inside at the time, firefighters continue searching through rubble.

Many of the victims had traumatic injuries such as broken bones but there were a few with burns and facial trauma.

After the search for more possible victims is complete, investigators will be allowed on site to try to determine the exact cause.

Authorities originally stated they suspected a contractor doing underground work struck a natural gas line however they have now contradicted that statement saying gas may not have been the cause.
