Armed suspect steals lottery tickets from convenience store

An armed suspect makes off with a safe drop and lottery tickets after thrusting a knife in the face of an Amarillo convenience store clerk.

Amarillo police responded to a call just after 7:00 Sunday morning on reports of an armed robbery at the Toot-N-Totum at 4224 SW 34th Avenue. The female clerk says the suspect entered the store holding a knife and demanded money. She showed him that the register was empty, so he walked to the end of the counter, grabbed an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets and a safe drop from the clerk before leaving the store. There were no injuries in this incident.

That suspect is being described as a while male, 6'0'' tall, weighing about 225 pounds, wearing black face mask, a bright orange T-shirt over a blue hoodie, jeans, white tennis shows and white or tan gloves. He was last seen heading westbound from the store. If you have any information on this crime of suspect, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
