Details regarding a high speed chase that ended in Stratford have been released. The Sherman County Sheriff tells us the suspect is a 22-year old male from Topeka, Kansas.
He currently remains in jail and is being charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer and felony of evasion.
The chase happened early Wednesday morning, with the pursuit beginning in Guymon on Highway 54 led by the Texas County Oklahoma Sheriff's office.
The Sherman County Sheriff's got involved and tried to stop the vehicle when it reportedly rammed into Sheriff Joe Powell's unit twice.
Powell continued to chase the vehicle until it was forced to stop.
The Sherman County Sheriff's office says they are working with Oklahoma on the investigation and will then decide on a date for the suspects arraignment.
