Equine rescue group raises funds through bowling event

Another group of people got together Sunday to do a little bowling for the Second Annual Bowl for the Horses. The event was hosted by the Panhandle Safe Hayven Equine Rescue group.

Supporters came out to Western Bowl on Canyon Drive to show off their bowling skills and donate to the groups cause -- education on horse care, rehabilitating abused of neglected horses, offering help to horse owners during a personal or natural disaster, placing them in adoptive homes, or even helping law enforcement with the seizure of neglected animals. Last year, the group raised almost $15,000 during the same fundraiser.

"On my own over the years, but it just came to a point in 2003 were God set it up for us to do this and He's provided for it," said President and Founder of the group, Terri Gammage. "He keeps us going."

The organization operates solely on donations, so if you missed out on the bowling Sunday but would still like to make a donation you can mail it to 1809 Plateau, Amarillo, TX 79106.
