Nine citizens file civil suit against City of Bovina

Nine residents have come together to file a civil lawsuit against the City of Bovina, it's ex-police chief and several other city and law enforcement officials.

The suit alleges these citizens were targeted, harassed and extorted by the city and law officials to generate revenue for the City.

One plaintiff claims she suffered a seizure after police officer used his Taser on her unnecessarily. Another claims he was arrested and forced to pay money for failure to have a three digit house number on the curb in front of his home.

The suit states the victims were targeted because of they belong to a lower socio-economic class.
