One local company took a group of kids on a Christmas shopping spree Saturday.
This was the seventh year for Amazing Tans to host it's Annual Christmas Event for needy children. Owner, Jeff Hunt, said the event grew this year from about 30 last year to more than 120 kids this year. Hunt dished out 150 dollars to each of those kids to go shopping at ToysRUs for a few toys they might not have been able to receive this Christmas.
A feel good event, Hunt said is his way of giving back.
"For me personally this is kind of my Christmas. I don't have any children so this is big event for me, so this is my way of being Santa Claus," said Hunt. "We're the ones who are kind of blessed to be able to experience this with these children and see them smile, it's hard to describe."
Amazing Tans usually teams up with Faith City Mission to reach out to needy children, but Hunt said he believed there was a greater need this year, so they expanded it to their Facebook fan page to reach more kids.
