Man arrested in Perryton for making threats

Dustin Mack Dustin Mack

Perryton, Texas - According to Perryton Police Chief Tony Hill, a woman called the station claiming her son threatened to commit an offense similar to the recent incident in Newtown, Connecticut.

Close to 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, the caller says her son, 30 year old Dustin Mack, claimed the Sandy Hook Elementary School incident would look small compared to what he planned to do in Perryton.

PISD officials immediately began implementing their safety plans for all Perryton campuses.

The investigation led officers to the suspect and he was arrested around 6:00 Tuesday night.

Chief Hill says the important thing was to get Mack off of the street so they can investigate how serious he was about the threats he made.

Mack has been charged with terroristic threat and is currently being held in the Ochiltree County Jail.
