Gun Ban in Australia

Posted: Updated:

Australia - With the recent mass shootings still fresh in the mind of the American people, many are now looking at how Australia responded to a similar situation.

After a 1996 mass shooting that left 35 dead, the country developed tough gun laws just 12 days later.

As a part of the new gun deal, 600,000 semi-automatic weapons were bought back from owners.

The country had 11 mass shootings in the decade before the change but has had none since.
