Wreaths are often recognized as a symbol of the Christmas season, but this morning in Amarillo and across the nation, wreaths were laid at the graves of area veterans.
Saturday morning at eleven o'clock, the Texas Panhandle War Memorial and Tiger Squadron Civil Air Patrol hosted the annual "Wreaths Across America" Ceremony at Llano Cemetery. The public was invited to attend to remember those who have fallen, honor those who have served, and teach our children the cost of freedom. Honoring all branches of the military, more than 24,000 wreaths were placed on more than 500 graves.
