Saturday was the official wrap up of the High Plains Food Bank "Together We Can" food drive.
The goal was to raise 500,000 meals and as of about 9 o'clock Saturday night, they had raised nearly 484,000 meals! That means they were just shy of meeting their monetary goal, still lacking about $3,300. But even now, they're calling the drive a success.
"A very successful week, we've met our food goal. A little over 130,000 pounds collected so are very please about that," said Zack Wilson, Executive Director of the High Plains Food Bank. "But we still need some help to help us to cap off the weekend but it's still not too late to do it."
