West Texans filled blood donation centers on Friday after they heard about the need for blood following the crash.
The outpouring was especially big on Thursday night when hundreds showed up at united blood services to donate.
Most of those had to be turned away because the center was at capacity and those were referred to numerous locations.
We're told they're going to need several donors to give in the next couple of weeks to replenish the supply that was used for the train accident victims.
"An overwhelming group of people to come in and it's been awesome so appreciative of all the donors that have come in during this time and we want more people to come in, Diane Scott with United Blood Services in Odessa, said.
The United Blood Service Center in Odessa will be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
They encourage you to call them ahead of time to make an appointment.
A blood drive will also be happening at the HEB in Midland.
You can go to unitedbloodservices.org to find out about other locations.
