Amarillo, Texas - A former high school coach in our area pleads guilty to 6 counts of Improper Relationship with a Student.
The 47th District Attorney's office says 33 year old John David Bryan pleaded guilty to the indictments in the cases. He was ordered to spend 180 days in jail, pay a $250 dollar fine, must serve 10 years deferred adjudication, and must complete sex offender counseling.
He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims or their families, and can have no contact with unrelated children under the age of 17 without parental supervision.
In April of this year, Bryan turned himself into authorities after warrants were issued for his arrest. He admitted to having sexual relationships with at least two female high school students while he was a JV baseball coach at River Road High School in Amarillo.
