Today an estimated $20,000 was raised to assist local charities and organizations.
The Amarillo Junior League held their bi-annual rummage sale Saturday afternoon.
Snack Pack for Kids, Teen Court and the Amarillo Zoo are just a few of the organizations that will benefit from the fundraising efforts.
"My first community placement when I first joined the league was with teen court, that is one of the projects that the junior league founded. What teen court does with the money that we give to them is help kids that get in trouble and give them a second chance," says Geri Hamilton, Amarillo Junior League.
All items not sold in the rummage sale will be donated to various shelters and thrift stores throughout the area.
