Area man charged in credit union robbery

Amarillo, TX - An area man has been charged in the recent robbery of an area credit union.

According to federal court documents, 51 year-old Billie Grimes was indicted Wednesday for the armed robbery of the Amarillo Federal Credit Union in Pampa.

On September 15th, Grimes allegedly entered the building, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.

He was caught a short time later, and held on a $50,000 bond.
