4-H youth helping Cadillac Ranch area

Posted: Updated:

Amarillo, TX - It's National 4-H Week and youth across the nation are working on big projects to help the community.

In the past, Randall County's 4-H youth club followed the West Texas A&M parade after homecoming and picked up trash along the square.

This year they decided to clean-up the Cadillac Ranch area.

It's basically a time for us to get the word out about 4-H; what it is, how it benefits them, and hopefully get others involved. We came out here to pick up the trash, you know we're in a field where there are cattle around and it's not really great to be around this trash, so we wanted to pick it up in the perimeter and make it look nicer," says Kim Peter, Randall County Extension Agent, 4-H youth and development.

The mission of this youth and development club is to make tomorrow's leaders better through projects, activities and contests.
