"Cop on Top" fundraiser for Special Olympics Texas

Posted: Updated:

You may find more than just donuts at area donut stops this weekend.

Beginning at 5:30 on September 7th, 2012 local police will be camping out on the roof of the Donut Stop at I-40 and Bell.

They won't come down until noon on Sunday.

It's all part of the annual "Cop on Top" fundraiser for Special Olympics Texas.

Donations can also be dropped off at any of the other Donut Stop locations in Amarillo through the weekend.

In the past decade, local law enforcement has raised over 11 million dollars for the organization.
