Clovis - The Clovis City Commission approved a potential plant that would utilize demolition debris, sludge and wastewater for conversion into biomass energy.
Vancouver-based Small Scale Power approached the Clovis Industrial Development Corporation about a possible lease of land east of the city landfill.
The company intends to submit a proposal to Xcel Energy and will start construction on the plant in July if approved.
The power would go towards Xcel Energy's supply.
