Woman needs help identifying hit and run driver

AMARILLO, TX- A hit and run driver who struck three cars parked in the driveway of an East Amarillo home remains on the run.

Donna King showed NewsChannel 10 Friday what's left of her cars she says someone ran into early Saturday morning at her home on N. Highland St.

"This is what I came outside to," King said as she showed us the damage. "My three cars just smashed together."

It's bad enough the driver took off.

What's even worse is King says unless the person is caught, she's going to be out a lot of money for repairs.

"I don't have full insurance coverage," she said. "I only have liability to repair somebody else's vehicle if I mess up."

She wants the person to know she isn't mad, but would like the person to own up to what they did.

"Come talk to me," she said. "We can work something out to help get my vehicle's fixed."

King says while assessing the damage, she spotted a suspicious newer model truck slowly driving up and down her street.

She believes the car may have front end damage and could be involved with the incident.

However, without a make or model of the vehicle or full license plate number, it's been difficult for Amarillo Police to track the truck down.

King believes the first three license plate numbers are 0-3-1.

Auto mechanics and body shops are asked to be on the lookout for a gray/silver truck with blue paint scrapes on the front end.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to called APD at 378-3038.
