Curry County Jailer Accused of Stealing From an Inmate

Clovis, NM - A Curry county jailer is accused of stealing $500 from an inmate.

The Clovis News Journal reports Stuart Shane Dietz is accused of stealing the cash from Raymond Valdez , who was arrested for driving without a valid license and speeding.

Surveillance video at the jail show Dietz handling the wallet three different times, and going through it while processing the inmates paperwork.

After refusing to take a polygraph exam, Dietz was arrested and charged with felony misdemeanor.
