Woman sentenced for stealing $173,000

Amarillo, Texas - A woman from Happy is sentenced to 2 years in prison for stealing nearly $200,000 dollars.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 44 year old Heather Carlton pleaded guilty to one count of Forging Securities of an organization back in May of 2012.

She admits to stealing money and forging signatures on checks at her former place of employment, Cactus Feeders.

She must surrender to the Bureau of Prisons by September 10th. Carlton is also ordered to pay $173,035 in restitution.
