Pampa, TX - A Pampa man is arraigned in connection with a recent grass fire.
Police believe he may be connected to two other fires as well.
This morning 20-year old Eric Lewis was arraigned and charged with one count of arson, which is a second-degree felony.
The Pampa Fire Marshal says Lewis allegedly started a blaze in the 800 block of East Kingsmill Monday afternoon.
Now investigators believe he may have also started two grass fires earlier that day in the 600 block of East Foster.
The Fire Marshal tells us Lewis possibly used matches or a lighter to set combustible materials ablaze.
Witnesses helped authorities with the arrest Monday by giving descriptions and location of the suspect.
There were no reported injuries or damages.
"With our condition right now, with it being hot and dry, something like this could be really catastrophic. With our Texas Panhandle winds and the tall weeds and grass, a fire could get out of hand really quickly. We can lose homes and lives and all kinds of stuff. Fire is just so unpredictable," says Fire Marshal Michael Ryan, Pampa Fire Department.
Lewis was released today on a 7,500 dollar bond.
The Fire Marshal tells us these fires are not linked to the one from Saturday.
Investigators believe that grass fire was started by illegal burning.
