Borger man dead and teen in critical condition after wreck

Amarillo, TX - A Borger man is dead and a teenager remains in critical condition after a head-on collision in Potter County.

The Texas Department of Transportation tells us 36-year-old Levy Cox was driving northbound on Highway 136 near mile marker 94 Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say Cox crossed into the southbound lane for unknown reasons, striking a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jackie Stapleton.

Cox was pronounced dead on scene.

Stapleton along with three passengers in his vehicle were all taken to Northwest Texas Hospital.

15-year old Lance Stapleton is the only one in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
