Texas State Representative District 88 race

Canadian, TX - It was a tough election for Ken King going against the incumbent Jim Landtroop, but he pulled out with a win.

With about ninety percent of votes in, King got 55-percent of the votes and Landtroop took 45 percent.

We caught up with the two as results started pouring in, here is what they had to say.

"It's something that doesn't happen very often I guess it is something that is a big accomplishment. Mr. Landtroop ran a really tough campaign and sure made me, I mean I had to work as hard as I could to stay up with him," said King.

"We are disappointed, we were hoping we would win but we did everything we can, we could, we worked hard ultimately we trust the Lord that His plans are going to work itself out, and we are going to take some time, spend it with family and pray about this and see what the Lord has for us now."

King says his biggest focuses while in office will be agriculture and education.
