Friona, TX - A boost every summer to Friona's economy is the annual Cheeseburger Festival.
This year for the Seventh Annual Cheeseburger Festival, Chris Alexander with the town's Chamber of Commerce says around two thousand people visited the town to taste cheeseburgers from about twenty competitors.
Alexander says those visitors greatly help the town.
"They come and they spend their dollars here, in the park with different vendors, they may have to buy gasoline when they leave town, they might buy a coke to go home. They may even spend the night, so that helps Friona," added Alexander.
Alexander says she hopes more people will travel to Friona next year for the cheeseburger festival so they can taste what the town is famous for.
