Amarillo, TX - It was a big celebration for comic enthusiasts all over our region as Amarillo held it's first ever anime, steampunk and comic convention.
The event was held at the Amarillo Civic Center.
Hundreds of people attended and many told us this is an extremely popular event.
There were costume contests, a chance to meet artists and authors, workshops and performances.
"This is actually the first year that we hosted this event. It is not only family friendly and a good time," says Julie Bednorz, Chainmail Armory Jewelry.
The director of the Amarillo Public Library says the convention is a way to encourage reading among people who follow the comic and steampunk trends.
