The accused gunman in a murder for hire plot that left a Lubbock doctor dead is now in the Lubbock County Detention center.
David Neal Shepard was transferred there from the Randall County Jail Thursday afternoon.
Police say Doctor Thomas Michael Dixon began plotting to kill Sonnier after his girlfriend left him for the Lubbock pathologist.
He allegedly paid Shepard $9,000 dollars in silver bars to carry out the murder.
Both men are charged with first degree felony murder.
Neither has entered a plea.
LUBBOCK, TX - Amarillo doctor Thomas Dixon is found guilty of two counts of capital murder. He is sentenced to life in prison without parole.
