Clovis man pleads guilty to 2011 murder

Clovis, NM - A Clovis man pleads guilty to second degree murder for shooting another Clovis man following a fight at an apartment complex.

Police say Louis Guerra fired 11 shots at Daniel Perez in April of last year.  One of the bullets struck Perez in the head, killing him.

Guerra faces up to 20 years in prison for that charge.  In addition, Guerra faces up to 12 additional years behind bars for two aggravated assault charges.

Curry County Jail employees say Guerra got into a fight with the victim's brother after the two were accidentally placed in the same pod of cells last month.
