Amarillo, TX - Residents are encouraged to take part in a local race that could end up saving lives.
Registration for the fifth annual Palo Duro Hot Dog Run was held this weekend...the event will take place on July fourteenth.
They are hoping to raise awareness about those who suffer from depression and offer help.
The event was a success last year and those involved hope there will be an even bigger turnout this year.
"It's an event that our family has put together to honor my father who we lost to suicide on December 18, 2002. Our goal is to raise awareness, suicide prevention, and support programs that support post-traumatic stress disorder for veterans," said Oscar Baeza Jr.., co-race director.
If you register before July fourth you will be guaranteed a T-shirt for the race.
