Young area ranchers given support

Amarillo, TX - Today hundreds of people came out to show support for young area ranchers.

The 11th Annual Steak Out was held at the Tri-State Fairgrounds this evening.

It benefits the Potter County Junior Livestock Association, which provides an opportunity for our youth to participate in competitions through livestock show exhibitions.

"Last year was a record year. We raised a little over $50,000. It really helps our program. We sold a little over two-hundred animals last year, had a record sale. So we're really proud of this event, it really helps us out. It helps the kids out," says Tom Schooler, volunteer.

Earlier this evening there were live and silent auctions as well as a dinner.

The concert and dance runs until midnight.
