Woman killed in I-27 crash north of Tulia

Tulia, TX - One woman is killed in an crash on I-27 just north of Tulia.

A pickup truck traveling southbound on I-27 Sunday morning veered onto the shoulder for an unknown reason.

DPS troopers say the driver, 21 year old Feliciana Moreno then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn several times, ejecting the passengers.

She and a 17 year old passenger were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

42 year old Rebecca Morena was taken to a hospital in Lubbock where she later died.

An infant strapped into a car seat in the back was uninjured.

None of the adult occupants were wearing seat belts.

And as it gets cold, obviously those people may try to start a fire or something inside to stay warm. And as a result of course we get a structure fire," said Community Development Administrator James Allen. ...
