Amarillo, TX - To make sure area kids have a safe place to go once school lets out, many after school programs are gearing up for the summer.
With area schools getting ready to end the semester in the next two weeks, parents will be looking for a safe place for their children to go during the day.
Campfire USA is already seeing a high demand of parents looking for a place for their children to stay once school lets out and they have to continue to work.
They say already their enrollment numbers for the summer are much higher than last year.
"It gives them a safe place to go, instead of having to worry about, parents having to worry about what their kids are doing and getting into. It gives them a place to say hey, my kids safe here, they are getting taken care of, their needs are being met, they are having fun, they are learning so I think parents really like that environment for their kids to be in," said Josh Riles, the Program Coordinator for Campfire USA.
Campfire USA does still have room for more kids to join their summer program.
