City officials stress importance of building safety

Amarillo, TX - You could be putting yourself and your family at risk when you enter a house or building.  That's why the City of Amarillo is promoting awareness all month about building safety.

Every day, City employees ensure places where residents live, work and play are all in accordance to building and fire codes.

That's why they, along with several other area agencies, are trying to inform the public on what to do when repairing a home.

The Amarillo Fire Department was also there, teaching residents how to prevent fires, and what to do if there is one.

If you missed today's event, don't worry.  There will be another one next Saturday for the whole family at Sutherland's Lumber on South Washington from 8am to 5pm.
