Motorcycle accident leaves one in the hospital

Amarillo, TX - An area motorcyclist is taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in southwest Amarillo.

At around 12:30 this afternoon Amarillo Police and Randall County Sheriff's were called out to a wreck at the intersection of Coulter and Loop 335.

Authorities tell us a Dodge truck going northbound on Coulter reportedly hit a motorcyclist turning northbound from Loop 335.

Southbound and northbound traffic were blocked off for nearly thirty minutes.

The motorcyclist is being treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
