Texas school misspells own name for years

Fort Worth, TX - One elementary school has apparently been misspelling its own name since 2003.

The Sunrise Elementary School in Fort Worth added McMillian to its name in that year in honor of the school's first teacher.

The only problem with that is the teacher had no second "i" in her name, McMillan.

The school is now beginning the long process of fixing every instance of the wrong spelling it can find, from the letters on the building, to logos, to digital email signatures.

The error was discovered after a relative of the original Mrs. McMillan contacted school authorities over the mistake.
