Randall County looks to expand it's annex

Amarillo, TX - Randall County commissioners say as their county grows, so does the need for more space. They are looking to expand their annex.

Randall County commissioner, Bob Karrh, says there are problems with the parking lot filling up and problems with overcrowding when people try registering to vote or when juveniles show up for a court hearing. Karrh also added there is a need for another Justice of the Peace.

"Randall County has only two JPs and our population is about the same as Potter County," Karrh said. "Potter County has four and we really probably need another JP and we really probably want to bring another one on, soon, we hope."

JP Clay Houdashell says precinct four is growing and there are more than 90,000 people assigned to just one JP. He says with those kind of numbers, the ratio is off, and that it may help to recruit another Justice of the Peace.
