AMARILLO - For the last few years, securing a job has been a tough task for many in our area and even more difficult for teens who were up against older workers who lost their jobs in the recession.
The job market this summer for teens appears a little more promising than usual now that more skilled workers are migrating into more stable positions.
Although school isn't over for about a month, employers say if you haven't started applying for seasonal jobs, you are advised to do so as soon as possible.
According to the city's job site, the following seasonal positions are still available for teens and college students:
*Assistant Pool Manager
*Swim Lesson Coordinator
*Swim Lesson Instructors
*Lifeguards
*Swimming Pool Managers
All of these positions remain open until filled.
On April 19 at the Southwest Branch Library, the City of Amarillo met with qualified applicants for summer positions.
