LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - A judge recently assigned to the case of a Saudi man accused of trying to make a weapon of mass destruction has moved the trial to Amarillo, Texas, and set a new trial date.
U.S. District Judge Donald E. Walter of Louisiana moved the trial of Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari from Lubbock, Texas, and set June 21 as a trial date, according to documents filed Friday and posted online Monday.
The trial was to begin April 30.
Court documents did not indicate why Walter changed the date and venue.
Court documents allege Aldawsari planned to attack targets, including sites in New York City and former President George W. Bush's home in Dallas.
