Amarillo, TX - Saturday hundreds of area adults and children came out to support CASA in their annual fund-raising race. The 1K and 5K run was held on the WT campus Saturday morning.
The CASA organization provides advocates to children taken from their homes due to neglect, child abuse and sexual abuse. They are able to give those children a voice in court.
The theme this year for all of the national CASA races is "I'm a hero - be a superhero"
"We urge all the kids to dress up in their outfits and wear their capes," CASA board president Tracy Doughtery said. "That will be our theme, I believe, for the next few years because really, what this is about is the kids and raising money to help the kids, so we urge everyone to bring their children out to run in the race."
