Bushland ISD employee accused of purchasing and supplying alcohol to minors

Bushland, TX - An investigation is underway into a Bushland ISD employee accused of purchasing and supplying alcohol to minors.

The employee under investigation is 48-year-old Starla Stone a substitute teacher and bus driver for the district.

The Potter County Sheriff's Department and Bushland's Superintendent tell us a couple of weeks ago on the night of prom deputies found Stone at her home where eight minors were drinking alcohol.

Investigators learned her 21-year-old son, Coda Stone, provided the alcohol.

He was taken into custody that night and charged with one count of purchasing and supplying alcohol to a minor.

Under further investigation, authorities arrested Starla Stone and her son Thursday booking them into the Potter County Jail.

Now, both are charged with eight counts of purchasing and supplying alcohol to minors.

After talking with Bushland's Superintendent, we've learned Stone was placed on administrative leave last Friday.

We asked how long Stone was employed with Bushland ISD, but the Superintendent did not want to comment since the issue is still under investigation.
